Alan Richardson has confirmed his retirement from cricket in order to take up the role of bowling coach at Warwickshire

Alan Richardson, one of the Championship’s most reliable performers in recent years, has confirmed his retirement from cricket in order to take up the role of bowling coach at Warwickshire. He replaces Graeme Welch, announced as Derbyshire’s new performance director earlier in the day, and Richardson’s departure, even at the age of 38, will leave a huge hole for Worcestershire to fill.In four seasons at New Road, he claimed 254 first-class wickets at 22.07. Richardson had been due to play on for one final season but, after Welch’s move created a vacancy, he will instead make an immediate switch, rejoining the county he played for between 1998 and 2004.”I have been working on my coaching qualifications for some time and, whilst I had planned to have one more season as a player with Worcestershire, this is a fantastic opportunity for me in this next stage of my career with Warwickshire,” Richardson said.”I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at New Road and am grateful for the understanding that the management and coaching team at Worcestershire have shown since I informed them of my decision to retire early. I am looking forward to the challenge ahead and cannot wait to get stuck into working with one of the finest bowling attacks in the country.”Richardson and his distinctive “windmill” action have been part of county cricket for almost two decades, during which time he claimed 569 first-class wickets at 26.37. After starting his career with Derbyshire in 1994, Richardson had respectable spells with Warwickshire and Middlesex before joining Worcestershire in 2010 and enjoying the best period of his career, being named one of Wisden‘s five Cricketers of the Year in 2012. Ungainly as his method of delivery was, Warwickshire’s next generation could do worse than tilting at windmills.Warwickshire have some of the best bowling resources in the country for Richardson to work with, including England internationals Chris Woakes and Boyd Rankin, and Lions candidates Chris Wright and Keith Barker. He will have a hard act to follow, however. Welch, known as “Pop”, was highly regarded for moulding the attack that led Warwickshire to the 2012 Championship.Dougie Brown, Warwickshire’s director of cricket, said: “Alan is someone who we know very well from his previous spell with Warwickshire and he is respected throughout the game. His experience and knowledge will help continue the excellent work that ‘Pop’ has done over recent times with our bowling unit and I am looking forward to working with him.”

Além disto, os números mostraram que o clube de General Severiano deve cerca de R$ 80 milhões a pessoas físicas, como Felipe Neto, Carlos Augusto Montenegro e os Irmãos Moreira Salles.

As três figuras são as mais importantes porque tratam de pessoas com alguma importância no Botafogo. Felipe Neto é dono da Vigia de Preço, empresa que patrocina o clube na atual temporada, e da Neto’s, marca que esteve presente no ano passado. Os Irmãos Moreira Salles, por sua vez, são conhecidos dos torcedores, já que ambos possuem interesse em investir financeiramente no clube; Montenegro foi presidente da instituição entre 1994 e 1996.

Ao todo, de acordo com o balanço financeiro, deve R$ 81,3 milhões a pessoas físicas. Os que possuem valores maiores são Walther Moreira Salles, R$ 25,4 milhões, e João Moreira Salles, R$ 23,2 milhões, ambos com os vencimentos previstos para novembro de 2047. Para Montenegro, o débito é de R$ 11 milhões, que tinham a data inicial de vencimento para abril desse ano.

Com Felipe Neto, o valor é menor. O Botafogo deve R$ 170 mil ao youtuber, que se prontificou nas redes sociais após a divulgação do balanço, afirmando que a dívida foi perdoada, mas que não deu tempo para que isto entrasse de forma atualizada nas contas divulgadas pelo clube.

Depois dos irmãos Moreira Salles, o maior valor que o Botafogo deve é para Marcos Vinicius Secundino. Em 2014, ainda na gestão de Maurício Assumpção, o empresário havia feito um empréstimo para o clube. Inicialmente, o vencimento era para fevereiro de 2015. Por conta dos juros de 2,2% ao mês, a dívida aumentou e hoje está no valor de R$ 11,7 milhões.

Martin Snedden, the New Zealand Cricket (NZC) director, has said that the possibility of the ICC handing over power to the Big Three – India, England and Australia – and allowing them to control the game’s finances may not be a bad thing for world cricket.The proposals from the ICC’s Financial & Commercial Affairs “working group position paper” seek, among other things, to scrap the central FTP agreements between the ICC and its members and replace it with bilateral agreements between member nations. It led to concerns that the other Test playing nations, including New Zealand, might not get the share they deserve, at the expense of the Big Three, but Snedden was confident that NZC’s interests will be enhanced if the latest proposals are approved.”Do we [NZC] have power at the ICC table? No, not a hell of a lot. Do we have the ability to influence and persuade? A little bit. The critical thing is to identify the things most important to us. That means ensuring the stability of our playing programme and revenue generation,” Snedden told the .The reason the FTP is to be removed from central ICC control, according to the position paper, is because “the draft FTP, as it stands, contains a large number of unviable tours.” Cricket Australia, the ECB and the BCCI it is stated, are “committing” to enter into FTP agreements from 2015 to 2023.”It’s a fundamental outcome for us to be left with a playing programme which sees us play all the Test-playing countries in a four-year cycle like in the FTP. Ratification of the existing schedule would be an excellent outcome. It’s early stages but we’ve got a good chance of doing that. I need to stress there’s nothing wrong with India, Australia and England working together to produce something for everyone,” Snedden said.”Don’t jump to the conclusion what they’re doing is not good for world cricket. Get this right and the FTP playing programme can be extended to 2023 and we can line it up with ICC events like the World Cup and World T20. That’d be a stable platform to work from.”The BCCI continues to generate the majority of the income for the ICC and though Snedden admitted that it will be more of the same, he said that cricket boards will have to embrace India’s control.”I’ve walked back into a different world from what I left in 2007. When I exited, there was no IPL and the broadcasting rights were headed in India’s direction but that has escalated over six years,” Snedden said.”Whatever the formula reached, India will take a greater slice. I think that’s fair because they create 70-80 per cent of the revenue. That’s not unusual in the world of sporting rights agreements. The Indian market’s escalated out of proportion to everyone else since last time.”We need to remove any doubt over their involvement in 2015-23 tours. If they’re fully committed to the programme, that puts the ICC negotiating team in a strong position to exploit commercial rights.”The proposals will be presented to the ICC Executive Board during its quarterly meeting in Dubai on January 28 and 29.

وانتقد جمهور آرسنال استمرار تيمبر في اللعب، رغم تعرضه للإصابة في الشوط الأول من اللقاء، ولكن أرتيتا فسّر الأمر.

وقال أرتيتا في تصريحات نشرتها صحيفة “ميرور” الإنجليزية: “فحص الطبيب، تيمبر، في البداية، وبدوا سعداء باستمراره في اللعب خلال الشوط الثاني”.

وأضاف: “ولكن على الفور، بعد ذلك، قام بحركة ما وكان يتألم، سيتعين علينا تقييمه”.

He believes the extra training helped him turn around his form, after he made only 13 runs in three ODIs against Pakistan in the UAE.”After the UAE tour, I had one-month period for training session,” Thisara said. “I worked hard with supporting staff in Sri Lanka. It was really helpful for me.”Jayasuriya was adamant that a stint in Australia playing Twenty20s would not help him progress as an allrounder, having used a similar treatment to rouse him out of a slump previously. “We are not giving him permission to play in the Big Bash. He has to work and stay in Sri Lanka,” Jayasuriya had said. “The reason is poor form. He’s been in very poor form with his bowling and batting. The Horsham festival has had a reprieve for the 2014 season after an anonymous benefactor donated a significant sum to Sussex to allow them to continue with the out-ground fixture.It appeared to have paid the price for the club’s financial difficulties, but the festival week will take place from July 21-27 and will include a Championship match against Warwickshire and a 50-over fixture against Nottinghamshire.However, the fact the venue has been saved for this year is not a long-term solution and Sussex are aware they need to make it financially viable.Zac Toumazi, the Sussex chief executive, said: “Personally I am delighted that the festival will be proceeding this year. We have had some sponsors come forward but without the substantial donation from an anonymous benefactor, it would not be going ahead.”It is now up to all of us to make the festival the most successful ever and work hard to attract sponsorship for 2015 and beyond. We must avoid this situation reoccurring.”
