Qayyum also criticised the leaking of the inquiry committee report, upon which the penalties were based, to the media. “We have also raised objection on the leakage of the report and it’s very clear that it’s done with a malafide intentions against Younis.”The one-man tribunal has adjourned the hearing on Younis’ appeal until May 15 and on that day appeals against Shoaib Malik and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan will also be heard,” PCB legal adviser Talib Rizvi told reporters in Lahore.

A escolha, sem dúvida, foi pela história do clube. Uma equipe que briga por todos os campeonatos que disputa e por mais que tenha tido um pouco de dificuldade no ano passado, isso é normal. Para alcançar seus objetivos pessoais você precisa estar em uma grande equipe e em um grande clube.

Você estima quais são suas reais chances de estar na próxima lista de Tite?
Não tenho essa dimensão. Não sei informar. Continuo sonhando, acreditando. Fui convocado no ano passado algumas vezes e isso me deixa motivado. Tenho chances e e quero fazer parte do grupo. O mais importante é começar bem e mostrar que tenho condições. Infelizmente teve a contusão do Gabriel (Jesus) e não sei se estará à disposição para os amistosos (em março), mas pode ser mais uma chance de jogar essas partidas.

Quando mais jovem, esperava estar jogando em alto nível e ser cotado para a seleção brasileira aos 32 anos?
Sempre acreditei muito no meu trabalho e procurei dar o meu melhor. Ao longo da minha carreira mostrei isso nas equipes que passei. Aos 32 anos não é surpresa pra mim estar jogando um bom futebol

Você espera ser um líder dentro do São Paulo?
Venho para ajudar meus companheiros. O mais importante é ajudar da melhor maneira possível. Vou procurar dar sempre o meu melhor e passar a minha experiencia o máximo possível.

O São Paulo foi um clube acostumado a ganhar títulos no início do século. Atualmente, o clube não vence nada há cinco anos. Como você vê isso?
O objetivo é organizar a equipe, ter um time forte e brigar por títulos. Não é comum o São Paulo ficar tanto tempo sem ganhar um título.

O São Paulo é o 12º clube de sua carreira. Você pode falar um pouco sobre essas mudanças?
Mudei um pouco mesmo. Passei por alguns clubes. Fui para a Arábia e acabei não recebendo salários e tive de voltar três meses depois. Fui para a Ucrânia e pela guerra a equipe do Metalist acabou não existindo mais. Foi tudo aprendizado. Nos últimos tempos deu uma ficada em uma cidade. É uma loucura arrumar casa, escola. É muito melhor estar bem adaptado e tranquilo em um lugar.

No ano passado você fez 21 gols pelo Sport. Se você jogar de centroavante aqui no São Paulo dá para superar esse número?
Gosto de fazer gol, é normal. Mas não estabeleço uma meta. Quero poder estar ajudando com assistências e gols. Mas acho que dá para superar (referindo-se aos números do ano passado).

Você reencontrou o Anderson Martins aqui no São Paulo. Pode falar um pouco sobre ele?
O Anderson Martins é um craque de bola. Ajuda muito na saída de bola e na velocidade do passe. Ajuda muito chegar com qualidade na frente.

Quanto ao nosso rival, a minha história no Palmeiras é passado e tenho um clube de tradição e muita ambição para buscar os objetivo. Aquele momento era meio de temporada e era bem difícil sair para um lugar onde você estava adaptado. Como era meio de temporada não sabia se era aquilo que eu queria. Acabou o ano e tive essa conversa com o Raí e, sem dúvida nenhuma, a troca de ideias me fez acreditar no projeto do São Paulo.

He initially Tweeted: “As of yesterday, Hendrick, Clark & Lewis had been told they’re not in 25. Hendrick left on loan, the others stayed despite offers. The extra man could be an injured player such as Hayden.”

In reply to a fan asking whether they would be able to leave on loan, the reporter said:

“Only to foreign markets where the window remains open (Turkey, for example). But I think that’s unlikely.”

This claim from Hope will surely leave fans annoyed for multiple reasons.

From a financial point of view, it is a worrying waste of money for the club. They are now set to pay these players a hefty sum of money at the end of the month with no chance of getting any value back from them on the pitch as they are unable to be involved in any capacity.

You could argue that they may still have a positive impact in the dressing room or in training, but that is information we are not privy to. The cold hard fact is that the Magpies are going to be paying them for making no visible contribution between now and the start of the 2022/23 campaign.

From a player perspective, fans will be frustrated that they are wasting their careers for the next five months or so – particularly in Lewis’ case. Clark, at the age of 32, is in the latter stages of his playing days and this break may not have much of an impact on his development, but the Northern Ireland international is only 24 and will now go months without competitive football.

Instead of playing regular minutes at the first-team level, Lewis could be resigned to playing in the U23 team and that could affect his progress as a player. The supporters will be annoyed by this as he was brought in for a reported £15m and still has three-and-a-half years left on his contract, which suggests that he is – or was – seen as a long-term player for the club.

His lack of game time could also impact Newcastle’s chances of recouping a big chunk of the fee they paid for him initially if they decide to sell him in the summer. Teams could be put off by his long spell on the sidelines and that could make it difficult to move him on, which is another reason why fans will be frustrated by this news.

The tournament will feature 23 matches (the same number as 2009), with the format, schedule and venues to be decided in the coming weeks.Nine of the ten teams for the tournament in South Africa, scheduled between September 10 and 26, are confirmed. The West Indian representative will be known once their domestic Twenty20 competition ends in July. Trinidad & Tobago represented the Caribbean in 2009 and reached the final, which they lost to New South Wales.
