– Quando acabou o jogo, ele já estava querendo pular. Eu falei para ele: “não pula, porque você vai se machucar e o policial vai te pegar”. Na hora que eu me distraí, porque eu estava filmando, ele pulou. Quando eu vi, ele estava lá dentro já. Ele pulou, deu um abraço no Zé Roberto e voltou. – Eu falei para ele: “meu, você entrou para a história, você vai ficar marcado, toda vez que falarem da despedida do Zé Roberto você vai estar na imagem” – acrescentou.

Moisés e Guilherme não são frequentadores assíduos do Allianz Parque devido ao elevado preço dos ingressos. Eles “estrearam” no estádio no último sábado, quando o clube distribuiu entradas grátis para as finais do Campeonato Paulista nas categorias sub-11 e sub-15. Não iam a uma partida juntos desde a eliminação do time na Sul-Americana de 2010, diante do Goiás, no Pacaembu.

No sábado, como o pai teve de trabalhar, a família não chegou a tempo de ver o sub-11 ser campeão em cima do Santos. Mas eles assistiram atentamente ao título do sub-15 em cima do São Paulo.

– Quando o Guilherme viu a molecada jogando, ficou besta. Tinha moleque lá do tamanho dele. Ele até falou: “pô, pai, dá para eu jogar nesse campo aí”. Eu disse: “lógico que dá, é só a gente correr atrás”. Ele ficou muito feliz de ver aquela molecada jogando no Allianz Parque, ficou bestinha – lembra Moisés, que está tentando realizar o sonho do filho de se tornar um jogador.

Apesar de ser fanático pelo Palmeiras desde pequeno, Guilherme treina em uma escolinha do Santos. É a única perto de sua casa, no Jardim Guarujá, bairro próximo ao Capão Redondo, em São Paulo.

– Ele joga bem. Inclusive aqui no bairro o pessoal fala para investir, porque ele tem futuro. O problema dele é ser franzino, magrinho, mas ele tem habilidade com a bola, tem um bom passe, sabe driblar. Eu falo para ele que ele é diferenciado, mas precisa melhorar o físico. Estamos trabalhando nisso. O Palmeiras vai ter teste em março e eu vou levá-lo lá – elogia o pai-coruja.

A experiência de ver o Palmeiras de perto deixou Guilherme encantado. O pai conta que ele saiu do Allianz Parque já querendo saber quando será o próximo jogo e pedindo para ir à Academia de Futebol encontrar os jogadores.

– Desde pequeno ele é palmeirense, graças a Deus. Ele gosta principalmente do Dudu, mas sempre diz que o Zé Roberto joga muito também, até pela idade, pela posição. Então ele falou que tentaria pegar a camisa do Zé e aprontou aquilo lá (risos) – relata Moisés.​

A atitude de invadir o campo, inicialmente condenada pelo próprio pai, acabou sensibilizando a torcida do Palmeiras e Zé Roberto. O ídolo destacou a pureza do gesto:

– Foi gratificante, emocionante. Eu poderia receber o carinho de pessoas mais velhas, que já me conheciam de outros clubes, mas receber carinho de uma criança… A criança é pura. O abraço dele me mostrou que sou um referencial para ele. Me mostrou que represento alguma coisa – disse o veterano.

O dia seguinte ao abraço só não foi mais feliz para Guilherme porque ele se acidentou na escola, bateu a cabeça e teve de ir ao hospital para fazer exames. Foi só o susto.

Aston Villa are in advanced talks with Dundee United over a deal to sign teenager Kerr Smith, according to The Scottish Daily Mail’s Steven McGowan. 

The lowdown

Villa kicked off their January business last week by agreeing a loan deal for Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho, and their recruitment drive in Steven Gerrard’s first transfer window at the club continues.

It emerged on Sunday evening that they were deep in discussions with Everton over a move for left-back Lucas Digne, and he might not be the only defender making the move to Villa Park this month.

Smith, a 17-year-old centre-back, is at a different stage of his career to the Frenchman and is only valued at £180,000 by Transfermarkt.

Smith may not be ready for Premier League football right away, but this could be a fruitful long-term acquisition for Villa, where the likes of Jacob Ramsey and Carney Chukwuemeka have shown that there is a discernible pathway from the academy ranks into the first team.

Malik was made captain by the board following the banning of regular leader Shahid Afridi for two matches after he was found guilty of tampering the ball during an ODI in Australia.But in a meeting with chairman PCB Ijaz Butt on Thursday, Malik apparently made a request to not be captain for both games and allow Afridi to take the reins for the second game when his ban ends. “I have no interest in the captaincy of Pakistan,” Malik told reporters in Lahore. “I just want to play and play well, do well and help Pakistan win matches. I met the chairman yesterday and the meeting went well.”Malik was captain of Pakistan in all three formats till February last year, when he was removed following an ODI series defeat to Sri Lanka. That’s according to a report by The Scottish Sun, who claim that Ange Postecoglou is weighing up a number of offers for the 21-year-old centre-back this month, with several clubs believed to be interested in taking the defender on loan for the remainder of the season.

However, while it is reported that the 56-year-old Bhoys boss would be more than happy to sanction the temporary departure of the former Sheffield Wednesday starlet this month, it is also stated that the Greek-Australian coach will consult with the youngster before making a final decision on his short-term future.

Disaster for Celtic

While it is true that Urhoghide has not exactly been a first-team regular since his £207k switch to Glasgow last summer, the 21-year-old’s undoubted potential, in addition to his impressive positional versatility, are just two reasons as to why letting him leave the club this winter would be something of a disaster for the Bhoys.

Indeed, the defender has already proven that he has what it takes to feature regularly in professional football, making 16 Championship appearances for Sheffield Wednesday last season, over which he helped the Owls keep three clean sheets, as well as making an average of 1.6 interceptions, 1.8 tackles, 2.7 clearances and winning 5.8 duels per game.

Furthermore, in his single appearance under the management of Postecoglou, the youngster also highly impressed, being deployed at right-back against Real Betis in the Hoops’ 3-2 Europa League win back in December.

In this fixture, the £3.8k-per-week defender enjoyed 65 touches of the ball, completed 30 passes – one of which was key – made five tackles, three clearances, one interception and won nine of his 15 duels.

These returns saw the Englishman earn a very respectable SofaScore match rating of 6.9 on his debut for the club, while Football Scotland also awarded the 21-year-old an eight in their own player ratings for the match.

As such, it would very much appear as if the youngster who Darren Moore dubbed “immense” is an extremely valuable member of the first-team squad at Parkhead, and would seem to be more than ready for a greater share of first-team football in the second half of the campaign – leading us to believe that Postecoglou simply must keep the youngster at Parkhead this winter.
