Loads of Celtic fans have been running the rule over Wednesday’s action, and they’ve got loads to say about the performance of Olivier Ntcham.

Celtic brushed St Mirren aside at The Simple Digital Arena on Wednesday night, as Tim Weah and Ryan Christie scored the goals to take the Bhoys another step closer to the title.

Weah opened the scoring early when he headed one in off the crossbar, pouncing on the scraps from a missed Oliver Burke chance.

Ntcham then missed a penalty, but it didn’t cost his side as substitute Christie popped up with a late goal to secure the win.

Fans are a little split over the performance of Ntcham, with some saying the Frenchman just needs time after returning from a long injury struggle while others continue to slate him.

The 23 year-old, who has missed the last ten league games with a knee injury, was constantly berated by fans earlier this campaign for his shocking form.

His performance on Wednesday was certainly improved, but it looks like he’s still got some way to go to win the fans over.

ونجح الأهلي في الفوز على الفريق المغربي بثنائية في المباراة التي جمعتهما على ملعب مركب محمد الخامس بالرباط في الذهاب، وتقام العودة يوم الجمعة القادم.

وقال ضياء السيد خلال مداخلة برنامج “وان تو” عبر أثير “أون سبورت إف إم”: “ذكاء موسيماني منذ توليه تدريب الأهلي جعله لا يطبق كل أفكاره دفعة واحدة مع فريق كان يعمل مع مدرب آخر موسم كامل”.

وأضاف: “موسيماني اقترب من اللاعبين وعمل على الجانب المعنوي أكثر وحافظ على طريقة 4 2 3 1 وأعطى اللاعبين الثقة وأظهر جرأته الهجومية، موسيماني (مضربش مفكات كثيرة في الفريق)”.

وتابع: “اللاعبون اشتغلوا بشكل جيد على المستوى الفني والبدني أمس أمام الوداد، ولذلك جزء كبير من الفوز يحسب لموسيماني بسبب ذكاءه”.

وواصل: “الهدف المبكر الذي أحرزه الأهلي سهل المباراة، بالإضافة لضعف الوداد على المستويين الجماعي والفردي ولكن هذا لا يمنع تفوق لاعبو المارد الأحمر، لم أكن أتوقع هذا المستوى من الوداد إطلاقا”.

واختتم بالحديث عن مباراة اليوم بين الزمالك والرجاء: “أعتقد أن الأمور اختلفت بعد مباراة أمس، سيكون هناك ضغط على الفريقين، ولكن الأبيض بمجموعة لاعبيه الأقوياء هم الأفضل وأتوقع نتيجة إيجابية”.

ويلتقي الزمالك اليوم في تمام التاسعة مساء بتوقيت القاهرة مع الرجاء في ذهاب نصف نهائي دوري أبطال إفريقيا، على أن تكون مواجهة العودة يوم السبت المقبل.

وجه نادي مانشستر يونايتد، تحذيرًا شديدًا للاعبه الشاب ماسون جرينوود، بعد القضايا الأخيرة للمهاجم الإنجليزي المتعلقة بالسلوك منذ معسكر المنتخب الإنجليزي.

ماسون جرينوود غاب عن مباراتي مانشستر يونايتد الماضيتين أمام نيوكاسل وباريس سان جيرمان، وأوضح سولشاير أنه يعاني من إصابة طفيفة.

ولكن عندما وصل سولشاير إلى باريس، وسُئل عن حالة جرينوود، تهرب من الإجابة، مشيرًا إلى أن الأمور الطبية لا يمكنه التدخل فيها والحديث عنها.

شبكة “سكاي” البريطانية، أكدت بأن مانشستر يونايتد اتخذ اجراء بتحذير اللاعب جرينوود، بأن في حالة تكرار أفعاله الصبيانية سيتم توقيع عقوبة كبيرة عليه.

صاحب الـ19 عامًا، انتهك قواعد التباعد الاجتماعي لمواجهة فيروس كورونا، واصطحب فتيات رفقة زميله فيل فودين، في معسكر المنتخب الإنجليزي في سبتمبر الماضي بـ الدنمارك.

وسجل جرينوود 17 هدفًا مع مانشستر يونايتد في الموسم الماضي، وظهر لأول مرة مع إنجلترا في الفوز على أيسلندا سبتمبر الماضي.

Celtic may yet have the chance to sign Filip Benkovic again this summer, but should they pull the trigger?

Last week, Brendan Rodgers sounded open to the possibility that Benkovic could leave Leicester again this summer.

Rodgers told the Leicester Mercury: “We will have a look in the summer. The idea was to get him out on loan where he can get experience and feel pressure.

“He obviously has been playing at Celtic with 60,000 plus and the weight of expectation to win every game, so he was going to be okay with pressure. That is what he has done, not so much the second half of the season, but we will take him back and have a look to see where we go from there.”

With Dedryck Boyata’s contract still set to expire this summer, many Bhoys fans will be hoping the club jumps at the chance to re-sign Benkovic, but here’s three reasons why they shouldn’t.

Cost

The Croatian could of course re-join the club on loan, but if they attempt a permanent move then it will be a costly one.

The Foxes signed Benkovic for around £13m (BBC) last summer, and after a fairly successful loan spell they will absolutely expect to make a profit on the youngster.

Anything around or above £13m is far too much for a permanent move given the other areas of Neil Lennon’s squad that need strengthening.

Fitness

Fitness has also been a concern for the Croatian, featuring in just 18 of Celtic’s 33 league matches thus far due to various injuries, but mostly down to an ankle problem.

The 6 ft 4 centre back has played just three times since December, which is especially worrying given the sheer quantity of fixtures through the winter period, fixtures that are essential in the quest for silverware.

If Boyata leaves the Bhoys need a replacement they can trust, but with Benkovic’s ankle troubles it could be left to Jack Hendry to step in and replace the Belgian, which is worrying to say the least.

Ajer

Finally, Lennon and the club need to think about what is best for Kristoffer Ajer. The 20 year-old put in one of his best performances in green and white against Rangers last week, but he is still learning.

He has massive potential, but he needs an experienced leader next to him to guide him and show him the ropes, not someone who is equally inexperienced with just as much to learn.

With three years left on his contract, Ajer is the club’s future, and the focus this summer should be on finding a leadership presence to play alongside him, not another youngster to develop.

Loads of Manchester United fans have been running the rule over their victory against West Ham, and they’re not too happy with Jesse Lingard.

Just like their win against Watford, the Red Devils put in an underwhelming performance at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The Hammers, who were coming off the back of some woeful performances of their own, looked the better team in the opening stages, and were unlucky to see a Felipe Anderson goal incorrectly ruled out for offside.

Paul Pogba then scored from the spot after a dubious decision from the referee, but Anderson did get his goal in the second half, sneaking in at the back post to equalise.

And although Pogba’s second penalty of the day gave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side all three points, fans aren’t happy with their performance, particularly from Lingard.

When playing mid-table sides at home, attacking players like the English international need to be involved and making things happen. He completed zero dribbles, zero key passes and registered zero shots, per Whoscored.

أشاد قائد الفريق الأول لكرة القدم بنادي ليفربول، جوردان هندرسون، بوصول زميله وهداف الريدز، محمد صلاح، إلى 100 هدف مع العملاق الإنجليزي في جميع البطولات المختلفة.

وأضاف: “لا ينبغي أن أتفاجأ، لكن هذا يؤكد مرة أخرى كم نحن محظوظون للعب معه، أو نكون من ضمن مشجعي ليفربول في الوقت الذي يتواجد فيه بأنفيلد”.

وواصل تصريحاته: “وجود محمد صلاح ومساهمته مع ليفربول مهم بنسبة 100%، وأي شخص ينتمي إلى هذا النادي يعرف ذلك جيدًا، لكني أعتقد أنه يستحق المزيد من التقدير بعد هذا الإنجاز الكبير الذي حققه”.

واستمر: “ربما تكون أرقامه القياسية في موسمه الأول معنا (أكثر من 40 هدفًا) قد جعلت البعض يقارن بينها وبين أرقامه في المواسم التالية له وهذا قياس غير عادل وغير واقعي، لكن بصفتي زميل له داخل الملعب يمكنني أن أخبرك بأنه أفضل بكثير الآن مما كان عليه في الموسم الأول”.

وأكمل: “إذا نظرت إلى كيفية تطورنا كفريق في ليفربول منذ موسم 2017/2018، ستجد أن مساهمة محمد صلاح في ذلك كانت كبيرة مثل مساهمة أي لاعب آخر بالفريق، فهو يعمل بجد من أجلنا ويضحي كثيرًا من أجل الفريق، الإشادة بمو فقط عندما يسجل الأهداف يفتقد الكثير من الدقة لأنه يساهم كثيرًا في أشياء أخرى مع ليفربول”.

وأتم تصريحاته: “شخصيًا، آمل أن يكون بلوغ محمد صلاح هدفه المئوي الأول في ليفربول بجوديسون بارك هو البداية وأن تكون هناك المزيد من الأهداف في المستقبل، لكن حتى نصل لهذه اللحظة من جديد يجب أن أخبركم كم نحن نقدره كلاعب كبير في النادي”.

Speaking to The Debate podcast (17/04), Paul Merson has given his view on Leicester’s potential Europa League qualification ahead of next season.

What’s he said?

Under Claude Puel, Leicester looked a shadow of the team they were a few years ago but his sacking appears to have been timely in the race for a Europa League place.

Brendan Rodgers has managed to rejuvenate the club since he walked through the doors at the King Power and they’re now sitting in pole position in seventh place.

The Foxes have rediscovered their swagger under the Northern Irish manager, with Jamie Vardy back among the goals after struggling under Puel.

They’ve looked considerably better at both ends of the pitch and it came as no surprise to see them win four games on the bounce, prior to a disappointing defeat against Newcastle.

With four games to go, the final Europa League spot was discussed on The Debate. Speaking about Leicester’s chances, Merson appeared to think that it would be detrimental if they were to qualify. He said:

“I think with Brendan [Rodgers] he could do without it. Brendan’s just come in and would probably want a long pre-season with his players to bind to what he wants. He’s going to have to bring in some of his players that he likes so he’s going to need a longer pre-season than a Wolves.”

Busy pre-season on the cards?

Competing in Europe should be an honour but when you’re entering the Europa League in the early qualification rounds it leads to quite a hectic pre-season.

As seen with Burnley last summer, they were left feeling the effects of competitive matches so early on and never really recovered, only just now discovering the type of form that makes them such a threat to the bigger sides.

Although Leicester have greater depth and better players, it could also be a hindrance and at the moment, their focus should be on rebuilding. Despite another European adventure looking appealing, it may be difficult for Rodgers to embed everything he wants to in the squad next summer if they had an extra distraction.

It could prove to be a busy summer for Leicester anyway, but one main advantage of securing European football would potentially be keeping Youri Tielemans at the club when his loan spell ends.

However, with games against Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea still to play, things could be out of their hands regardless.

According to The Times, Real Madrid have cooled their interest in Christian Eriksen as they are reluctant to do business with Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy once again.

Levy, known as a very tough negotiator, is said to value Eriksen at around £60m, despite the fact that the Denmark international will see his contract with the London club expire at the end of next season.

Real Madrid have been consistently linked with a move, but according to The Times, Los Blancos are ready to drop their interest.

And the Tottenham fans have been on social media offering their reaction.

It remains to be seen whether Eriksen, who has scored nine times this season, pens a fresh deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as a number of clubs would happily sign him.

If the European champions have dropped their interest that is excellent news for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, though, as they attempt to keep the playmaker in the English capital.

واختتم: “لكن على المستوى الفني فمن الأسهل لفريق الكرة بالأهلي أن يواجه الرجاء المغربي في نهائي البطولة القارية”.

يذكر، أن الأهلي قد تأهل للمباراة النهائية لدوري أبطال إفريقيا على حساب الوداد المغربي، منتظرًا المتأهل من بين فريقي الزمالك والرجاء.
