وسيحل آرسنال ضيفًا على باريس سان جيرمان في إياب نصف نهائي دوري أبطال أوروبا، لتحديد المتأهل للمباراة النهائية.
وكان باريس سان جيرمان تغلب على آرسنال ذهابًا، بهدف دون مقابل، على ملعب “الإمارات” معقل الفريق الفرنسي.
وأكد حكيمي أن ليلة المباراة ستكون مميزة للغاية، محذرًا آرسنال من الأجواء الحماسية داخل وخارج الملعب.
قال حكيمي في تصريحات نشرتها صحيفة “ميرور” البريطانية: “ستكون ليلة مميزة للغاية في باريس، ستكون الأجواء حماسية، وسيدعمنا الجميع داخل الملعب وخارجه، نحتاجهم لدعمنا حتى النهاية”.
وأضاف: “المدينة بأكملها تتابع المباراة، هناك إرادة قوية، وستكون الأجواء حماسية، وسيكون الضغط مهمًا، ضد مانشستر سيتي، على سبيل المثال، كنا متأخرين في النتيجة، وساعدونا على قلب الطاولة”.

وأشار حكيمي إلى الخسارة أمام بوروسيا دورتموند العام الماضي: “إنها بالتأكيد من بين أكثر المباريات المثيرة التي لعبتها لأنها تعني الكثير للنادي، والهدف هو الفوز بالبطولة ونحن نعلم أننا على بعد خطوة واحدة”.
وأتم: “نحن هادئون لأننا لعبنا نصف النهائي العام الماضي، لدينا الخبرة ونعرف ما يجب علينا فعله، ما أبدعناه وما أخطأنا فيه، سنكون مستعدين”.

The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) is relaunching its T20 tournament this August, three years after the competition was hit by a series of corruption allegations and, subsequently, the Covid-19 pandemic.The Karnataka Premier League (KPL), as it was known then, will now be called the Maharaja Trophy T20. The rebranding aside, the KSCA has made some structural changes in the way the six-team tournament will be run going forward.What is new? The KSCA has disbanded the franchise model and will take complete control of all cricketing aspects – right from player draft to payments to appointments of coaches and staff. They have, however, brought on board sponsors for each of the six teams for the ninth edition, set to run from August 7 to 26 across Bengaluru and Mysore.Was corruption the reason for the change in structure? Primarily, the KSCA has made the shift keeping in mind the country’s tax laws. “The association is liable to pay a higher percentage of its revenue in the form of taxes should they stick to the franchise system, since it’s seen under the tax lens as income earned” secretary Santosh Menon said. “The current format – with KSCA bearing all expenses – won’t attract the same percentage of tax.” That said, the KSCA has reiterated its stance of complying with all anti-corruption protocols as mandated by the BCCI.Who are the six teams? Each of KSCA’s six zones are represented – Bengaluru, Mysuru, Hubballi, Shivamogga, Raichur and Mangaluru.How will teams be formed? The KSCA’s cricket committee, headed by president and former India allrounder Roger Binny, has formed a core group of six selectors picked from across the six zones of the state who will take part in the draft process to ensure all squads are balanced. The selectors are Anand Katti, AR Mahesh, MV Prashanth, Santosh Vadeyaraj and Raghotham Navli.All top cricketers within the age bracket of 35 years will be eligible to play. The KSCA committee will also nominate the captains and vice-captains. Who appoints the coaches? The KSCA has distributed top coaching talent – one head coach and one assistant – to each of the six teams. The head coaches are Stuart Binny, Nazeeruddin, Mansur Ali Khan, Nikhil Haldipur, Deepak Chougale and PV Shashikant. One physio, trainer and video analyst will also be appointed for each of the six teams.How will the draft process take place? Players are divided into four grades – A, B, C and D. Those who have played for India and in the IPL will form Grade A. State players who’ve only featured in one of the senior tournaments (Ranji Trophy/Vijay Hazare Trophy/Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy) will be part of Grade B. Those who’ve featured in various age-group tournaments (Under-19s, Under-23s) will form Grade C, while Grade D will comprise emerging talent.How much do the players stand to earn? Unlike earlier, where players were picked at an auction – Pavan Deshpande was 2019’s most expensive player at INR 7.3 lakh – payments will be uniform as per the grades they belong to. Those in A will get a flat fee of INR 5 lakh. Players in B, C and D will earn INR 2 lakh, 1 lakh and 50,000 respectively.Who are some of the top players to look forward to? All top players of the state – except those on national duty – will take part. Wolverhampton Wanderers are blessed with plenty of attacking talent, some of whom have performed well up to this point despite the tough season in 2024/25. Of course, the best of the bunch has been Matheus Cunha, who has ten goals and four assists in the Premier League this season, more than any other Wolves player.
Another player performing almost as well as the Brazilian is striker Jorgen Strand Larsen. His loan move from Celta Vigo has been successful on a personal level so far, and he has seven goals and two assists in the top flight this term.
However, one player who has not performed well this season is experienced attacker Pablo Sarabia.
Sarabia’s 2024/25 season so far
It has not been a good campaign for Spanish forward Sarabia. He has simply not been able to break into the team under previous manager Gary O’Neil, or current boss Vitor Pereira, which is perhaps surprising given his experience.
The 32-year-old has played for some big clubs throughout his career. He made 151 appearances for La Liga side Sevilla, played 98 games for French giants Paris Saint-Germain and 48 times for Portuguese club Sporting.
You may well think that, with all that experience, Sarabia would have been a really important player for the Old Gold. Yet, he has played just nine times in all competitions this term, scoring once in the Premier League in a 2-0 win against Southampton.
Overall, Sarabia’s record for the Midlands club is not great, with just six goals and ten assists in 58 appearances. Despite the experience he brings, he has arguably left a lot to be desired throughout his time at Molineux.
Thus, it might not be a surprise to learn that the Old Gold are considering new attacking reinforcements, and their Spanish attacker could be in line to be replaced if this deal gets done.
Wolves' dream Sarabia upgrade
The player in question here is Moroccan international winger Zakaria Aboukhlal. The 24-year-old, who currently plies his trade at Ligue 1 side Toulouse, is said to be ‘at the top’ of the list for Wolves, according to a report from Foot Mercato late last week.
The report suggested that the Midlands club are ‘following the Toulouse star very closely and are hoping to attract him’, citing his versatility as a reason that they want to bring him within the next couple of weeks.
Indeed, he has played right across the frontline for the Ligue 1 outfit this season, but the majority of his work has come as a right-winger, making him a like-for-like replacement for Sarabia, who also pays out there.
This season, the Moroccan international has impressed with six goals and two assists in 17 matches. Arguably his best moment came in a 3-0 win over Montpellier, where he scored twice and grabbed an assist, contributing to all three goals.
In terms of his profile, the 24-year-old was described as a “1v1 specialist” by football analyst Ben Mattinson. That certainly highlights one of his biggest attributes, his threat in one-on-one situations against a defender, where he will not shy away from taking on his man.
Indeed, this high volume and ability of ball-carrying from Aboukhlal are perhaps one reason why they are interested in signing him. In fact, the stats on FBref from the 2023/24 campaign suggest he is a better carrier than Sarabia. Last season’s numbers have been used to, essentially, get a bigger sample size.
Per 90 minutes last season, the Toulouse star averaged 2.74 progressive carries and 0.95 success take-ons. Both of these numbers are better than Wolves’ number 21, who averaged 2.11 progressive carries and 0.88 successful take-ons each game.

There is no doubt that Aboukhlal would be an upgrade on Sarabia. The Moroccan winger would bring excellent ball-carrying and a huge one-on-one threat, something the Spaniard simply does not offer, as the stats show. He is also someone who can score and create goals and has done so more than Sarabia this term.
This could be an incredibly smart signing for the Old Gold, who would be adding quality depth to their side and a unique threat which they don’t really have in that right number ten position.

Wolverhampton Wanderers fans will be getting slightly worried about their team’s lowly predicament in the Premier League with four defeats now on the spin.
Of course, those four losses did come about when facing off against some of the top-flight’s best teams in the form of Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United and Chelsea and that was no exception last time out as Arsenal battled hard to pick up a slim 1-0 victory at the expense of Vitor Pereira’s Old Gold.
Regardless, there will be plenty that concerns the Portuguese manager about the drop-off in form, with the central midfield spots of his team an ongoing problem area owing to Mario Lemina’s uncertain future at Molineux and now Joao Gomes’ suspension after being shown a red card against the Gunners.

It has been widely reported that Lemina is pushing for a move away from the Premier League strugglers this busy transfer window, with the wantaway midfielder last featuring for his side against Nottingham Forest towards the start of January.
Pereira recently revealed that he won’t play at all until the window slams shut and if he did depart this would be a big blow for Wolves. After all, the club’s former skipper brings leadership and has shone in spurts.
Indeed, the Gabon international has one goal and three assists next to his name this season in the Premier League, with the likes of Gomes seriously struggling in the central areas without Lemina around.
In the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal, Gomes was sent off after picking up two yellow cards to make his team’s task on the day even harder, with just one duel won from eight attempted.
Therefore, with the options not exactly plentiful with this recent dismissal further troubling Pereira, it’s no surprise to see a new midfield recruit being targetted.
Wolves' dream Lemina replacement
As per a recent post by Fabrizio Romano on his X account, Wolves are battling hard this window to try and snap up Real Betis ace Johnny Cardoso to bolster in the middle of the park.
It’s well known that the Old Gold had been looking at Manu Silva as another face to strengthen here, but with that move unfortunately collapsing, this new £21m target could be who Wolves put all their energy into trying to capture.
Wolves would face competition from Tottenham Hotspur, who have first priority on the USA international as a result of Giovani Lo Celso’s deal to Betis, but Pereira and Co will want to flex their muscles here to land a star that would make Lemina’s possible departure feel less demoralising.
After all, Cardoso has shone all season long in La Liga for his current employers, with his potential arrival on the scene handing Wolves some necessary grit and steel to try and make the relegation-threatened side less leaky ahead of some crucial clashes at the foot of the league.
