West Ham United fans have had to remain patient in their bid to strengthen the squad this January but as the window approaches its closing point in just over a week, moves are starting to be made.

A loan deal that will see Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips arrive at the London Stadium is on the verge of being completed while it's also thought that the Irons are looking to conclude a move for Nordsjaelland winger Ibrahim Osman.

Having trodden a similar path to Mohamed Kudus, there is hope he could be the next big thing at the Hammers.

That said, he's not the only offensive addition that could be added to David Moyes' squad before the window slams shut on February 1st.

Who West Ham could sign after Kalvin Phillips

A move for Phillips is incredibly shrewd from the West Ham hierarchy who are still perhaps searching for the type of influential figure Declan Rice was in the east end.

Edson Alvarez has, in part, helped to fill the gap but such a colossal void was never going to be filled with one player. This is where Phillips comes into the equation.

A striker could also be on the agenda for Moyes and Co this month with new reports from Italy detailing some exciting news.

According to Calcio Salernitana, long-term target Boulaye Dia is hoping to close out a move to West Ham. The report states that he 'dreams' of a move to the Premier League and hopes to join the London side.

A move could well be completed at a bargain price too, with a fee of £13m set by his club Salernitana in Serie A.

Scamacca repeat for West Ham

West Ham haven't exactly had a great line of success when dipping their toes into the Italian market in recent years with Felipe Anderson and Angelo Ogbonna standing proud as the lone successful additions in that dismal-looking list above.

A certain Gianluca Scamacca threatened to be a success story, joining West Ham with a pedigree for scoring goals.

In his final campaign with Sassuolo before joining the Hammers for £35.5m, he had found the net on 16 occasions in 36 league outings. That was certainly an impressive return but sadly those heroics couldn't be repeated in England.

The Italian only scored eight goals in 27 matches before he was shipped away to Atalanta back in his homeland.

Dia has the ability to be a similar story for West Ham. The striker had a "remarkable" season in 2022/23, as scout Antonio Mango put it, impressively bagging 16 times in 33 appearances. That tally, rather coincidentally, is exactly the same as Scamacca before he moved to the Premier League, albeit in fewer outings.

Now, you can't exactly read too much into that but for the 27-year-old, he looks too inconsistent to really guarantee success. Indeed, the Senegalese forward has scored only four times this term and just seven times in 2021/22. That's hardly very prolific.

If we are looking for positives then Dia certainly has the ability to offer more than just goals. He ranks within the top 13% of strikers in Europe's top five leagues for take-ons attempted every 90 minutes, as well as sitting inside the best 6% for carries into the final third.

He is a particularly mobile striker, one who happens to trump Michail Antonio in that regard. West Ham's current striker is in the best 19% for attempted take-ons but doesn't drop deep enough to carry the ball into the final third, sitting inside the top 39% for carries into that area of the field.

The ability to beat a player would no doubt appeal to West Ham but the fact of the matter is that Dia not potent enough. Sadly, this could be another Scamacca-like blunder if a move was sealed before February 1st.

There could still be signs of life at Tottenham on deadline day, as chairman Daniel Levy, technical director Johan Lange, chief football officer Scott Munn and the wider recruitment team apparently weigh up last minute moves. Perhaps the most surprising of them all, though, is Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke.

The Englishman has netted 12 goals in 20 Premier League appearances, so it's little shock he's turning heads, but Richarlison's newly-found resurgence in form at Tottenham arguably negates the need for another number nine. That being said, the Brazilian is currently Postecoglou's only natural option right now, with Son Heung-min often playing in a central striker role at points over 2023/2024.

Harry Kane's departure to Bayern Munich last year has left Spurs fairly short of alternatives to Richarlison in that regard, and reports have suggested that Tottenham are weighing up potential replacements for the club's all-time record goalscorer.

Tottenham ready to attempt £50m-plus deal for Solanke

According to The Sun, Solanke is of serious interest to Spurs as they eye up a new striker to take Kane's mantle. The news outlet states Tottenham are "prepared" to attempt a £50m-plus deal for Solanke, with Bournemouth already looking at replacements abroad in case they get an offer too good to refuse.

It's said Spurs are prepared to test Bournemouth's resolve when it comes to parting company with the in-form Englishman, so it will be intriguing to see if this advances any further.

Jermain Defoe has previously heaped praise on Solanke for his brilliant form this season, while ex-Cherries boss Gary O'Neil has called him a "dream" centre-forward.

“He’s a dream. As a center forward, I think sometimes his work can go unnoticed because it's difficult to score goals at this level," said O'Neil.

“But I'm so pleased he get his goal because you ask him to press, he presses, you ask him to do stuff in possession. He does it, he literally does everything he can. Probably the hardest working centre-forward I've ever seen."

Marcus Stoinis will miss Australia’s match against Sri Lanka at The Oval on Saturday as he continues to recover from a side strain. Selectors will give him every chance to prove his fitness ahead of their next match against Bangladesh, on June 20, before deciding on his future in the tournament. Stoinis sustainied the injury while bowling in Australia’s loss to India, and missed Wednesday’s match against Pakistan.While Stoinis has batted at training and spent time in the gym, he has yet to bowl, and Australia are unwilling to risk exacerbating the injury. Australia travel to Nottingham on Sunday ahead of their game against Bangladesh, giving Stoinis another four-day gap in which to continue his recovery.”Having four days between this game and the next game, I think that will be the ideal time to really test him out and assess him,” Australia captain Aaron Finch said. “But I think over the next five-six days, there will be a call made on that, just based on what he can and can’t do. We’ve seen him batting and running, no problem. Just he hasn’t tried to bowl yet. Just waiting for the injury to settle down a bit more.”Australia flew Mitchell Marsh in as cover for Stoinis before the Pakistan match but they can’t call him into the squad unless Stoinis is ruled out of the tournament. West Indies allrounder Rovman Powell believes his side was well-placed with “sufficient” wickets in hand to make a powerful launch in the last four overs to overhaul the target of 168 against India in the second T20I. Instead, a lightning alarm forced an initial delay at the 15.3-over mark with West Indies needing 70 to win before torrential thunderstorms officially ended proceedings with India declared winners by 22 runs via the DLS method.”I think the wicket was a little bit better,” Powell said after Sunday’s defeat while assessing West Indies’ batting performance compared to a day earlier when they struggled to 95 for 9 after being sent in. “It came onto the bat a little more. It didn’t spin as much or it wasn’t as slow as yesterday. As a team, I just thought we were an over behind. If the game had finished, we probably would have won or come very close.”I think we had sufficient wickets in hand. We had Kieron Pollard and [Shimron] Hetmyer at the crease, and Carlos Brathwaite and Keemo Paul to come in. I think those are guys that could have brought it to them. I guess in the end India are runaway winners but we don’t look at it and say we were far behind.”But rather than a possible finishing kick that was stymied by rain, a bigger issue was a poor start to their innings for the second day in a row as West Indies once again found themselves at 8 for 2. While their quest for the Premier League title continues, Arsenal are already looking to the summer and could be in line to get their hands on an elite talent at an absolute steal.

Despite their recent success on the pitch, it has been a long-running trope that Arsenal cannot find consistency up front. Since the departures of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, it has been a rotating cast of strikers who have led the line for the Gunners, often with very little to show for it.

This season has seen Mikel Arteta experiment with his number nine, giving the responsibility to a range of players in the hope that one will excel. This summer could see this quest for a number nine come to an end with Arsenal leading the race to sign one of Europe's hottest prospects.

Gunners leading Zirkzee chase

After an up and down start to his professional career, Joshua Zirkzee finally looks set to meet the expectations set when he joined Bayern Munich as a teenager back in 2017. Struggling for minutes at the German giants, the Dutchman still managed to grab headlines from the bench, leading to scout and analyst, Jacek Kulig, hailing the striker as prolific back in June 2020.

Now 22, the Dutchman is plying his trade at Serie A outfit, Bologna, and has exploded into life in Italy, scoring ten goals in all competitions this season, including a winner at Lazio on Sunday. This goalscoring prowess has put Zirkzee on the radar of some of Europe's top clubs and, according to Sport Witness, reports out of Italy suggest that it is Arsenal who are leading the race to secure his services. The Italian outlet reported that the striker is valued at £38.5million, and is likley to be on the move this summer.

His exploits in northern Italy have seen Zirkzee earn admirers from across the game. Owing to Bolgona's modest asking price, there is no wonder top clubs are circling for the youngster's signature, with journalist Zack Lowy suggesting that whichever team ends up with the striker will be getting "one hell of a bargain".

One potential stumbling block for Arsenal is that Zirkzee's former club, Bayern, have a buyback clause for the striker, meaning they can pick up their former player for less than what other teams would have to pay. Despite this, the Bavarian side may be more inclined to let Zirkzee move elsewhere, with the club entitled to 50% of any future fees for the Dutchman.

In Zirkzee, Arsenal are buying a high-ceiling striker that can make an instant impact. With elite strikers now costing almost double the Dutchman's fee, the Gunners would be foolish to decline the services of the 22-year-old.

وأضاف: “الأندية المتواجدة الاستثمار هو الذي غالب بمعنى يكون هناك ربط بين الفريق الأول وقطاع الناشئين، الأندية الكبيرة في أوروبا لا تخرج إلا ناشىء واحد في العام، الأندية المتوسطة تخرج 3 أو 4 لاعبين، في النادي الأهلي سأكون مختصا بالفريق الأول والتعاقدات واستكشاف المواهب، بدل ما يأتي للمدير الفني لاعب يضطر يعود للجنة التخطيط والمشرف على الكرة الخطيب وتأخذ وقت ولا يكون هناك حسم للقرار، أنما أنا وهو نحسم القرار في الحال، يعني بمجرد اتفاقي مع كولر القرار اتخذ ويتم التعاقد فورًا ونبلغ مدير التعاقدات”.

هل يتعاقد الأهلي مع صفقات أخرى قبل إغلاق باب القيد؟ أجاب: “لا أحب الوعود إلا عندما تكون حقيقة، نحتاج إلى تدعيم مركزين أو ثلاثة بدون مسميات، وإن شاء الله قبل غلق باب القيد نوفق في ذلك”.

وعن قرار قيد علي معلول.. قال: “هو ليس سليما بنسبة 100% علي معلول اسم كبير جدًا في الأهلي ونتمنى يكون في أقرب وقت سليما لكي يكون في حسابتنا”.

هل ستتواجد على دكة البدلاء مع الفريق؟ أوضح: “من المفترض مدير الكرة يكون متواجدا على دكة البدلاء، لكن لو وصلنا لمرحلة الهدف الذي أريده لن أكون متواجدا، يوجد نظام معين في تفكيري لو استطعنا أن نصل إليه وجودي من عدمه على الدكة ليس ذو أهمية بالنسبة لي، لكن في البداية سأكون متواجدا على دكة البدلاء، وجودي داخل المباراة كناحية فنية ليس لي دور، الدور بالكامل لمارسيل كولر”.

وواصل: “أتمنى اللاعبين يكون لديهم وعي وتستوعب هذا الكلام، عندما أتحدث مع لاعب يكون للصالح العام، أتيت للعمل من أجل الكيان وليس الأشخاص والكيان طول عمره حجمه كبير جدًا وأكبر من أي أحد، أي أحد متواجد في النادي الأهلي يجب أن يقدر قيمة المكان”.

O meia-atacante Luan voltou a entrar em campo após quatro jogos consecutivos ficando apenas no banco de reservas. Autor da assistência do único gol corintiano, ainda no primeiro tempo, o camisa sete, que nesta segunda-feira (13), confessou certa chateação com o técnico Vagner Mancini, por conta da falta de oportunidades, em uma entrevista ao programa Arena SBT, foi um dos melhores jogadores do Timão, durante uma boa etapa inicial.

Mais próximo da área, o jogador buscou o chute três vezes enquanto esteve em campo: um acertou o gol, outro foi para fora e o terceiro foi bloqueado no meio do caminho.

Em relação aos passes, foram 35 certos, um aproveitamento de 87,5% dentre os 55 toques dados pelo médio-ofensivo na partida, segundo melhor aproveitamento, a frente apenas do volante Xavier.

Contratado no início de 2020 pelo Corinthians, em um investimento de R$ 28,9 milhões por 50% dos direitos, o camisa sete fez 48 jogos pelo Timão, sendo dois pela Florida Cup, torneio de pré-temporada realizado no início da temporada passada, e 31 como titular.

Sob o comando do técnico Vagner Mancini, Luan esteve disponível em 30 das 33 partidas, jogando em 18 e titular em sete.
