تحدث خافيير ماسكيرانو، المدير الفني لمنتخب الأرجنتين الأولمبي، عن إمكانية مشاركة النجم ليونيل ميسي في أولمبياد باريس 2024.
ويستطيع كل منتخب أولمبي الاعتماد على 3 لاعبين فوق السن، في تلك المنافسات.
وذكرت تقارير صحفية في الفترة الأخيرة أن ليونيل ميسي مُرشح بقوة للمشاركة في أولمبياد باريس 2024 رفقة منتخب الأرجنتين الأولمبي.
وقال ماسكيرانو في تصريحات نشرتها شبكة “infobrisas” الإسبانية: “لقد تحدثت مع ميسي بشأن إصابته، لمعرفة حالته، سنرى”.
وأضاف: “حالة ميسي مشابهة جدًا لحالة بقية اللاعبين في الخارج، علينا فقط التحدث وسنرى ما سيحدث (بشأن المشاركة في الأولمبياد)”.

Newcastle United could look to the summer transfer window to bolster the depth in their squad ahead of their return to Champions League football next season and now a new update has emerged on a potential transfer target.

According to Spanish news outlet AS, Newcastle are one of the Premier League clubs interested in signing Sporting CP centre-back Goncalo Inacio.
As per the report, the Magpies are in the race with Liverpool and Arsenal to sign the player who has a €45m (£39m) release clause, and whilst his Portuguese club is keen to hold on to him, there is potential for Inacio to make a move to the English top-flight this summer.

Whilst Eddie Howe will be thrilled with the huge progress his current squad has made over the last 18 months, there is certainly an opportunity to strengthen a number of key roles on the pitch ahead of next season.

As a result, the signing of Goncalo Inacio is a great opportunity to add a quality option for Howe in his defensive set-up, and he could even become the perfect heir for Fabian Schar.
The 21-year-old Portuguese talent – dubbed "underrated" by Zach Lowy – ranks in the top 5% of his positional peers in the Men's Next Eight Leagues over the last 12 months for assists, shot-creating actions, progressive passes, progressive carries and successful take-ons, demonstrating that he is an incredibly attacking-minded ball-playing defender.
When comparing his output last season with that of Newcastle titan Schar, the youngster already has outperformed his fellow defender in a number of key attributes including pass completion rate (89.6% v 69%), percentage of dribblers tackled (56.1% v 50%), successful take-ons (85% v 60%) and aerial duels won (60.2% v 51.7%).

Indeed, it is highly unlikely that Howe will be keen to break up the centre-back partnership that Schar and Sven Botman have quickly developed as the duo had the joint-best defensive record in the entire Premier League last season alongside Manchester City, conceding just 33 goals in total.
Having said that, there will be many occasions when Newcastle require rotation and a fresh perspective in the back line next season, as well as a prospect for the future, so if Newcastle can beat their competitors to the signing of Inacio it would be a great piece of business for the future of the squad.

Lou Rowan, the Australian umpire who was at the centre of the 1971 controversy in which England captain Ray Illingworth led his team off the SCG, has died at the age of 91.Rowan officiated in 25 Tests as well as the inaugural one-day international, and was one of Australia’s leading umpire through much of the 1960s. Prior to his death he was also Australia’s oldest living Test umpire, and away from the game he was a former Queensland drug squad detective.He was most remembered for the 1971 Sydney Test, during which Rowan warned England fast bowler John Snow for intimidatory bowling to Australia’s Terry Jenner. After the warning, Snow was grabbed by a member of the crowd while fielding on the boundary, and Illingworth walked his team off the field in protest.Rowan instructed Illingworth that England had to resume play or forfeit the match, and play did indeed continue. In his memoir, titled , Rowan – who also did not give a single lbw to England during five Tests of that series – said he did not regret his actions on that day.”It is not a happy thought that, as an umpire, I might have been the spark to explode Anglo-Australian Test cricket relations to smithereens,” Rowan wrote. “But I have no regrets for my part in the affair; I would act no differently in similar circumstances now, whether at club or international cricket level.”Rowan had also been on the field during another controversial moment earlier in his career, although on that occasion was not an antagonist. Leeds United are in advanced talks to appoint Daniel Farke as their new manager at Elland Road, according to reports.
Where is Daniel Farke now?
The German boss has gained plenty of experience over the years. His first ever role in the dugout was with Regionalliga West outfit SV Lippstadt 08, before going on to take charge of Borussia Dortmund’s B side, Norwich City, Krasnodar and most recently Borussia Monchengladbach, where he left earlier this month and is now a free agent on the market, as per Transfermarkt.
Sky Sports previously reported that the Whites were set to interview the 46-year-old regarding their vacant post with West Bromwich Albion’s Carlos Corberan and Patrick Vieira also named as individuals of interest, but it would appear that the former is the candidate being favoured among the hierarchy.
The Daily Mail recently claimed that the former Canaries coach has emerged as the leading contender for the role after shooting to the top of the board’s shortlist, and if the following update is to be believed, an agreement being reached is now closer than ever.
Is Farke going to Leeds?
According to Football Insider, Farke is in “advanced talks” with Leeds to become their new manager ahead of the 2023/24 campaign. The Yorkshire outfit are “confident” that the appointment will soon be completed with the deal “all but done”.
Elland Road chiefs are waiting for the Football League to ”ratify the takeover” of the 49ers where they will then be able to unveil their fresh face ahead of the start of pre-season.

Leeds will know what a “fantastic” manager, as hailed by journalist Josh Bunting, Farke is having previously beat the club twice with his visiting team, and looking at his excellent track record, he could be the perfect candidate to succeed Sam Allardyce.
The Steinhausen native, whose preferred formation is a 4-2-3-1, has overseen 138 games in the Championship, of which he’s won 71, drawn 38 and lost just 29 whilst averaging 1.82 points per match, via Transfermarkt, and this consistent form has more than paid off.
During his time at Norwich, Farke led the side to promotion from the second tier twice so knows exactly what it takes to compete and be successful at this level, therefore making him an ideal match to try and achieve that again a third time, only on this occasion at Elland Road in the 49ers' first campaign fully at the helm.
Manchester United have made a new offer to sign Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana, according to Sky Sports reporter Gianluca Di Marzio.
Are Man United signing Andre Onana?
The Red Devils have made a start on their summer business by securing the services of midfielder Mason Mount from Chelsea. The England international is set to cost Man United an initial £55m fee, bringing an end to his 18-year spell on the books at Stamford Bridge.
After Mount, Erik ten Hag and those at Old Trafford look like they are turning their attention to a new goalkeeper, with David de Gea currently a free agent.
Onana has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester to reunite with Ten Hag, however, a transfer, like Mount, is proving complicated.
Personal terms have recently been agreed between the Cameroon international and Man United, but shaking hands on a fee is proving to be a problem.
Recent reports suggested that the Red Devils were submitting an opening €40m offer for Onana, but it looks to have already been increased. According to Di Marzio of Sky Sports, Manchester United have “verbally increased” their bid to €45m, but it still doesn’t look to be enough.
“Discussions are still in progress between @ManUtd and @Inter for Andre Onana: MUFC have verbally increased their offer at €45m.”
Within his report, the Sky Sports Italy journalist said:
“Manchester United’s pursuit for Onana continues while Inter still want €60m for the goalkeeper.
“The Red Devils verbally brought an offer of €45 million for the former Ajax goalkeeper. Inter's demand, however, is higher, in order to let go of the Cameroon national.”

What has been said about Onana?
Inter Milan will feel under no pressure to sell, as Onana is still under contract until 2027. The 27-year-old appears to be attracting interest from Saudi Arabia as well, so Inter may be hoping for teams to get involved in a bidding war for their star ‘keeper.
Should Onana move to Old Trafford, though, you could say that Ten Hag would be getting an extremely high-level goalkeeper ahead of his second season in charge.
Ten Hag will know all about the player from his time at Ajax, and Mark Goldbridge is also a fan of Onana, recently saying he’d prefer him over Porto’s Diogo Costa as e is “box office” on the ball.
“I'd prefer Onana over Costa. Mainly because he's just box office to watch when he's got the ball under pressure.”
As per FBref, Onana likes to play out from the back and made fewer launches than both De Gea and Costa last season, showing how he could fit into Ten Hag’s style of building from the back. Pep Guardiola is also a fan of the shot-stopper’s ball-paying ability, hailing him following the Champions League final in Istanbul.
“Identifying the space and emptying the midfield is a special quality. Normally, teams have great keepers, but he [Onana] is exceptional with his feet.
“When you have a goalkeeper like Onana who can read perfectly where everyone is to pass to, with Calhanoglu and Barella, then the strikers hold it up and move the ball around. It is very, very difficult. It would be a tiny bit easier without this goalkeeper, but still very tough.”
Therefore, a move could be a wise one for United and co, especially given their shortage of options at this moment in time, however, they may once again need to up their bid if they are to be successful.

وتعود الحادثة المأساوية إلى شهر أبريل 1989 وأسفرت عن مصرع 96 مشجعًا لليفربول في ملعب هيلزبره خلال مباراة أمام نوتينجهام، بسبب التدافع والحواجز الحديدية.
وحث كلوب المشجعين المتوجهين إلى أولد ترافورد على إظهار بعض الرقي، داعيًا إلى وضع نهاية للهتافات المسيئة، خلال حديثه في مؤتمر صحفي قبل المباراة.

وشدد كلوب: “دعونا فقط نركز على لعب كرة القدم، إذا كنت تريد أن تكون سعيدًا، إذا خسرت، أي شيء، ولكن إلى جانب كل ذلك، فقط أظهر القليل من الرقي، ستكون هذه أمنيتي حقًا لنا جميعًا”.
من جانبه علّق تين هاج في مؤتمره الصحفي: “إنه أمر مهم للغاية، كن خلف مانشستر يونايتد، ادعمنا بطريقة إيجابية، أعتقد أن هناك رابطًا رائعًا بين الفريق والجماهير، إنهم دائمًا يقفون خلفنا”.
وأشار: “لقد رأينا قبل أسبوعين في تلك المباراة ضد ليفربول مدى التأثير الذي يمكن أن نحققه معًا بطريقة إيجابية، سنواصل ذلك مرة أخرى يوم الأحد بمزاج إيجابي في أولد ترافورد”.
وأفاد: “على هذا النحو، إنه جزء من واجبي أن أذكر كل مشجع محظوظ بما يكفي لوجوده في المباراة بأنه يجب الاستمتاع بها بالطريقة الصحيحة، وعدم استخدامها كذريعة لإساءة معاملة المشجعين المنافسين بشأن هيلزبره أو هيسيل أو أي مأساة تاريخية أخرى”.
